Tot Mom #19

Krysta & Liam — Entertainment at its best

Krysta was born in California, yet didn’t stay there for very long. She has lived in 28 states, most recently Upstate New York. She attended Columbia University in Manhattan and earned her degree in Wholistic Nutrition. Krysta met her husband, Eric, in Connecticut at a Renaissance Festival, where he was one of the bagpipers. Eric strolled over to Krysta and stood by her, playing his lovely music. She asked him, “What do you have on under that kilt? Is is true what they say?” Eric replied, “Lady, nothing is worn under my kilt. Everything works just fine.” They ended up talking for a little while and he gave Krysta his card. A few weeks later, she emailed Eric and they dated for 1 and 1/2 years online. Of course, they flew back and forth for visits! Krysta worked for the Department of Defense at the time and her job as an AIT instructor was coming to an end, so she moved to New York and they got married in 2008. According to Krysta, it was a nightmare wedding. Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. In fact, she never even made it to her wedding, so she and Eric got married on the beach that day and it was captured by a photographer and made it on the front page of the Los Angeles times. This is the only record she has of her wedding day. Can you imagine? They moved to Charlotte in September 2010 and enjoy the Birkdale area. They like to travel and camp out, especially for one of Eric’s competitions for bagpiping. Krysta loves to cook and decorate. She is a stay at home mom, yet has her own business, Creative Expressions, where she designs rooms. This tot mom is outgoing and interesting, to say the least.

Liam is three months old and extremely strong for being so little. I noticed him holding his head up and looking around at everyone. Krysta said he has been holding his head up since birth. She also said he is already strong willed, stubborn, and likes to be entertained. He is going to be a force to be reckoned with when he gets older. One good thing, he is an excellent sleeper. He has been sleeping through the night since six weeks. Liam has two older siblings, Hannah (15 years old) and Andrew (10 years old). Due to the age difference, Krysta and Eric would love to have a sibling for Liam. Good luck!

Krysta said the hardest thing about being a Tot Mom is balancing being a mommy of a tot and a mom of a teenager. It is hard sometimes to switch gears. The best thing is that Liam is a good sleeper. She also likes thinking about the future when she can have adult relationships with her children.
